Salary: NJC Grade C: £25,583 - £26,403 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked)

Working Pattern: This is a fixed term position working 36.25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year until 31st August 2026  (Monday to Friday)

Eden Park Academy are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our school team. You will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing and development, helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging school environment.

While the role is advertised as 36.25 hours a week, we are open to considering a job-share for the right candidates and encourage applicants who wish to explore this option.

About the Role

Working under the guidance of teaching and senior staff, you will support learning in both the classroom and small‑group settings.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils’ welfare and personal care, including those with SEND
  • Implementing literacy and numeracy interventions
  • Assisting with planning cycles and preparing learning resources
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence
  • You will also assist with supervision during break/lunchtimes and accompany pupils on trips when required.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who can bring energy, compassion and commitment to the role.

Essential qualities include:

  • NVQ Level 2/3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work well as part of a team
  • Commitment to improving outcomes for all children but especially the most vulnerable in our community
  • Ability to build strong appropriate relationships with children, parents and staff

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Knowledge of SEN practices and the national curriculum
  • Additional training in learning strategies such as literacy or numeracy
